Abram Met His Hagar
(Partial Obedience)
By: Minister Ernest J. Kolenda
Now The LORD Said unto Abram,
- Get thee out of thy country
- And from thy kindred’s
- And from thy father's house
- And to a land that I will show thee
- And I will make of thee a great nation
You will find the story of Abram and Sarai in
[Genesis Chapter 12]
So Abram departed out of his country and out of
his city of UR. From now on, we see that
Abram
only gave partial obedience to GOD. Partial
obedience is the same as not obeying, at all.
Abram was told to leave his kindred behind. GOD
called only Abram. This is a great lesson for
us today. Abram left his country and that was
easy. GOD told Abram to leave his kindred
(relations) and that was not so easy. Instead
of obeying GOD completely he took his Nephew
Lot along. GOD did not call Lot into a promised
land. Yes, it is a very difficult matter to
leave family behind and come out and be
separate from the world. Even in some churches
this is not done.
To Abram The Words Of GOD are very strict.
However, so is GOD'S Written Word. We now in
the Church Age cannot leave out parts of the
Commandments of GOD, or add to the
Commandments. The Bible does not allow us to
pick and choose the ones we like. GOD'S
Word is the Doctrines spoken of by the LORD Our
Heavenly Father through His Son, Christ Jesus.
The LORD Jesus Christ Said, In (Matthew 5:18)
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and
earth pass, one jot nor one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
(John 7:16) Jesus answered them, and said, “My
doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me”.
(John 17:7,8)
“Now they have known that all things whatsoever
thou hast given are of thee”. [Verse 8] “For I
have given unto them the words which thou
have gavest me;…”
Abram, oh Abram, you wandered around not
knowing where you were going. You left the city
of Ur but you were not established in GOD'S
promises. Abram wasted twenty-five years
because of partial obedience. In these twenty-
five years of wandering, you found your Hagar.
Abram, your call first was Separation From
Heathen gods and doctrines. Come out and be
separated Saith The LORD.
Later Abram went back into Egypt and brought a
heathen girl into the household. Now we know
satan was right there with a young girl called
Hagar and with the help of Sarai, the trap was
laid and produced an Ishmael and no end of
trouble until this day. Yet, for Abram's sake
his son was made a great nation. What a loving
GOD and yet He is also by His Nature
a Just GOD
and He cannot go against His Own Word.
Just look around and see the devastation that
has been caused by ignorance and partial
obedience. All through The Bible, you will find
evidence of this in every book. King Saul is
another example that stands out.
After Abram met Melchisedec and received Bread
and Wine GOD'S purpose became more clear to
Abram.
There was NO Spiritual Son "Isaac" until
after Abram met his Melchisedec and his
name
was changed to Abraham.
Sarai also had a name change to Sarah and
produced a son just as GOD had promised.
Complete obedience will produce and will never
fail.
I wish to tell you that Abraham was not the
father of Ishmael. ABRAM was the father of
Ishmael. Isaac is the son born to Abraham after
his name was changed. We are warned throughout
The Bible, DO NOT participate, in the worship
of heathen gods. When we read the posterity of
Abraham, it is always Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob. Ishmael and Esau are not included for
this reason. They were careless, worshiped many
gods, and mixed with others who also did this
abomination unto The LORD. They too were
partial in obedience.
In (Hebrew 11:8) By faith Abraham, when he was
called to go out into a place which he should
after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and
he went out not knowing whither he went. In
(Verse 9) “Abraham sojourned in the land of
promise as a strange country...”
After he obeyed GOD fully then his spiritual
son was born. His seed today are still living
on earth as the sand of the sea. They are here
as the stars in the sky. Oh yes, full obedience
is the only way acceptable to GOD.
How much truth does it take to go to heaven?

The search of man to find out what the mind is
continues.
Are the brain and the mind the same thing?
"Mind, in essence, is all the things the brain
does, " according to neurologist Richard
Restak. Most but not all neuroscientist share
this view. Remember that we do not understand
yet everything that we think of as the mind.
The mind suggests something that is so elusive
that it can't be pinned down.
(Above taken from ABC'S of the body, Reader's
Digest)
In The Bible, the mind is called The Heart. Out
of the abundance of "THE HEART,” the mouth
speaketh. Out of the abundance of THE MIND,
the mouth speaketh. Remember this, your words
are only your thoughts spoken aloud. You cannot
speak without thinking. However, this has been
said, "he spoke without thinking!" That is not
possible and can't be used for an excuse. "He
spoke what he was thinking and his thinking was
wrong is a better excuse".
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly
evil, full of deadly poison. [James 3:8]
Remember this whatever you speak take the
credit or the blame for it. This will build
character quicker than anything
You and you alone are in control of all your
thoughts and words. Seek the truth and the
truth will set you free. It will set your mind
and tongue free.

Proverbs, Poems and/or Feel Goods
We sow a thought and reap an act,
We sow an act and reap a habit,
We sow a habit and reap a character,
We sow a character and reap a destiny.
[William Makepeace Thackeray]
To believe in immortality is one thing,
but it is first needful to believe in life.
[Robert Louis Stevenson]
Let us endeavor so to live that, when we
come to die, even the undertaker will be
sorry.
[Mark Twain]
Fear not that thy life shall come to an end,
but rather fear that it shall never have a
beginning.
