Valley of Dry Bones

In [Ezekiel 37:1-14] we read of a Valley of Dry Bones. These verses are speaking of Israel. They
had been dry and dead so long because of running after other gods. They had idols of all kinds
and this was to their destruction and death.

That which is of the earth is earthy. That which is of the flesh is flesh. That which is of the
Spirit is Spirit. Corruption cannot enter an incorrupt world.

There must be a Spiritual Restoration first!

In [Ezekiel, the 37th chapter], there are 28 verses. The first 14 verses speak of a spiritual
restoration. The last 14 verses speak of a national restoration.

[Ezekiel 37: 1-14] Speaking of Israel, the first two verses tell of a Valley of Dry Bones. In
[Verses 3 and 4], GOD tells the prophet to prophecy to these dry bones. [Verses 5 and 6],
GOD promises to give life to these bones.

From verse [7 to 10], Ezekiel prophesied upon these bones. "So I prophesied as he commanded
me, and the breath came into them, and they Lived, an exceeding great army."

In [Verse 11], "And he said unto me, son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel…."
[Verse 12], "…thus saith the LORD GOD; behold, O my people, I will open your graves (make them
alive), and bring you into the land of Israel." And in [Verse 14], "And shall put My Spirit in
you, and you shall live…."

The fallen race, mankind, is a dying race. Death passed upon ALL men. [Romans 5:12] This included
Israel, and Israel can never take this corrupt nature into the next age.

All Israel must be partakers of Divine Spiritual Life, before entering the New Kingdom. Jesus
made it very important, saying, that in order to see the Kingdom, "one must be born again." Paul
teaches, "…Neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

Israel is eternal, but only those who have eternal life, the Holy Spirit, can live
eternally in the New World.

[2 Peter 1:4] "Whereby are given unto us exceeding (limitless and measureless) great and
precious promises: That by these ye might be Partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped
the corruption that is in the world through lust."

The Bible Pattern for Israel's Restoration

[Ezekiel 36:24] "For I will take you from among the heathens, and gather you out of all
countries, and will bring you into your own land."

[Verse 25] "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: From all of
your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you." {Verses 26, 27] "And a NEW Heart
(spirit) will I give you, and a New Spirit will I put within you; …and I will put My Spirit
within you.

In these four verses above, you can see that it takes both Water (to cleanse them), and Spirit
(to make them Alive). It is exactly as Jesus said to Nicodemus in [John 3:4,5]

Thus far, we have read about Israel being brought back to life - A Spiritual Restoration.

They must be born of Water and of the Spirit. They must be separated from their idols.
They must come out of their Babylonian graves.

The last 14 verses speak of the National Restoration. Let us consider these last 14
verses and their content.

In [Verse 16,] the LORD is saying, "Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write
upon it, for Judah…. then take another stick, and write upon it, for Joseph, the stick of
Ephraim…."

Remember, Israel was divided. There was the Ten Tribes called Israel, the Northern Kingdom; and
the Two Tribes called Judah, the Southern Kingdom.

Now in [Verse 19,] GOD is saying, "I will make them One Stick." He is saying that He is going
to unite these two kingdoms, and make one nation out of them, as they once were under King David.
This is the Restoration.

Paul the Apostle confirms this New Salvation to Israel. In [Hebrews 8:8,9] "…Behold the days
come, saith the LORD, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the
house of Judah. Not according to the Covenant that I have made with their fathers," In [Verse
13 of Hebrews] "In that He saith, a New Covenant, He hath made the First [Covenant] old.
Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

John Preached His Knowledge of the Scriptures in [Ezekiel 36:25].

In the [Gospel of Matthew, chapter 3], these verses record the fulfillment of what Ezekiel
spoke.

In [Matthew 3:5,6] we find that all the people in Jerusalem and Judea and all the regions
around Jordan came to John to be baptized of him confessing their sins. This was how John told
them to be cleansed from their idols and sins. This was the baptism of repentance for Israel.
John did not baptize the heathens. He only baptized Israel.

John's message was "come to the water." "This is the way to make straight your wicked paths."
This was the prophecy concerning John, "And thou, child, shall be called the prophet of the
Highest: For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways."

John knew what his work was. He took them to the river to cleanse them from their uncleanness.

He also knew that being baptized in water was only half the restoration. There is another
baptism to follow. He knew he could not baptize Israel with the Holy Ghost, so he tells them,
"There is one coming after me (John was only a forerunner of Christ) He shall baptize you with
the Holy Ghost (Spirit)".

John was telling them that Christ would put His Spirit within them and He would fulfill the
words of [Ezekiel 36:26,27]. He will complete the Spiritual Restoration. He will make alive
the dry bones.

The day of Pentecost as told in [Acts 2] was the giving of life to the dry bones of Israel. There
was not one heathen present on this day. This day was for Israel's dry dead bones. This was
only the beginning. The bones became dry and dead because of idol worship. Israel will still
have to be baptized in Water and Spirit. They will also have to give up all the idols and Baal
worship. This is the only way life will enter into the dry bones.

Israel is not the only one with dry dead bones. We have much of that in our day, also. Let us
too get life in the old dry bones that are the death trap. Our generation will have to give up
the idols and wickedness then be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost (Spirit).

Holy means Pure - Spirit means Life
This literally means - PURE LIFE!

To make dry bones alive again, we must receive Pure Life.

Not All Tears Are The Same

Have you ever stopped in the middle of a good cry and wondered about tears? How very strange
that tears have a different chemical makeup due to what caused your tears. Grief has a
different chemical makeup than tears of laughter.

When a speck of dust irritates the eye or when you cry with grief, the tears change in
composition, containing a greater percentage of lachrymal fluid than at other times. In one
study, it was discovered that tears of grief have a slightly different chemical composition
from other kinds; the cause of this and the consequence (if any)have yet to be discovered.

I wonder when we are in Prayer and Supplication what is the chemical makeups of our tears? When
we are ripped apart in agony over the souls of humankind and GOD Honors these important tears
by hearing, counting and saving each one.

What are these tears made of?

Could it be Soul-Saving chemical materials?
