A Most Holy Name
By: Minister E. J. Kolenda
Call Upon The Name!
Invoke The Name!
Bow To The Name!
This week we wish to enlarge the understanding of the name.
To write one article describing His Name is impossible but
we will try just to give you some of the benefits of this
name above All Names.
The general attitude is that the name of the LORD Jesus
Christ is so very wonderful because of the many benefits
that are received through it in our personal life. We
become very self-centered when we pray, and even when we
sing. The little words "I" and "ME" become very prominent.
How long will it will take us to discontinue wanting things
to come our way, and we begin to direct, praise and
adoration GOD'S Way?
To Illustrate: Prayers are spoken as, "I want all GOD has
for ME". "Please LORD, help ME." "Please LORD heal Me".
"LORD please supply My needs." "Bless My family". "GOD is
so good, so good to Me".
All these things, of course, are courteously asked for in
JESUS Name. Yet, do we really know what His Name is? Are we
saying in Jesus Name give me this or that, but have never
come INTO that Name by the Scriptural Act of Invocation at
Baptism.
Is it important? Was it not important that Mary have a name
invoked upon that "Holy Thing"? [Luke 1:35] This was not a
strange act to Israel. It was a command of GOD and they
Obeyed and did it.
It was at the time of circumcision, according to the
command of GOD Himself, that Abraham had to circumcise all
children on the Eighth Day. It was on that eighth day that
the invocation or the naming of the child took place. It
had to be strictly on the eighth day, not the Sabbath Day
(the 7th day), for the act of circumcision does not belong
only to the Law of Moses.
GOD told Abraham, 430 years before Moses, to circumcise the
male children on the eighth day following their birth.
True to the pattern that the Heavenly Father had laid out,
Jesus was Resurrected, not on the seventh day (the Sabbath)
but on the Eighth Day, the First Day of The Week. This was
a New Beginning.
A Joint-Heir Has A Joint Name
To be in the family of GOD is most important, that is, if
we wish to come into our inheritance after this earthly,
life is over. In order to inherit the Name you must be in
the family. The Book of Life is the record of your birth.
You must be in The Book of Life to inherit the family name.
In (John 5:43] Jesus is speaking and said this, "I am come
in my Father's Name, and you receive me not: if another
(the antichrist) shall come in his own name, him ye will
receive."
Under the Law of Moses, it was a capital offence for any of
the children of Israel to utter the name of GOD in its
original Hebrew form. Even the High Priest, who had to go
into the Holy of Holies to make atonement once every year
for the Israelites, was not allowed to pronounce GOD'S Holy
Name until he first sprinkled the Blood on the Altar. Had
he done so, he would have died immediately. The Name
JEHOVAH is that unspeakable name.
The original Hebrew Tetragrammaton for the " Unspeakable
Name" is JHVH. This word cannot be pronounced. The
translators had to add the English vowels E, O, and A. This
makes the word pronounced "JEHOVAH.”
This name is Holy. When the priest was reading the law and
came to that Sacred Name of GOD, he would shut his eyes,
bow his head, cross his hands on his breast, and worship.
When a scribe was copying the law, the respect of that Name
was so great, he would use a new pen to write the Holy Name
"JHVH" when he came to it in the text.
In the course of time and Babylon, it became agreed that
since the name was never pronounced, they would leave a
blank space in the record. Now, when the reader comes to a
blank space, he knows that the Name of GOD was intended. He
paused and worshiped, even at the thought of this Holy
Name. This is JHVH or JEHOVAH, as we pronounce it today.
When Israel was taken into captivity in Babylon, the High
Priest did not ever mention the Name of Israel's GOD to the
Babylonians, who were heathens.
The Priesthood agreed, that in order to keep the
Babylonians from learning this name of Israel's GOD and
desecrate the Sacred Name, the Priesthood would substitute
the word "WORD" for JEHOVAH. This in the course of seventy
years in captivity in Babylon, became the usual word or
expression for the name of JEHOVAH. Everyone in Israel knew
what the word "WORD" meant.
This practice was so common that in [John 1:1] we find John
using this custom when he wrote the gospel.
"In the beginning was the WORD (JEHOVAH), and the WORD
(JEHOVAH) was with GOD, and the WORD
(JEHOVAH) was GOD."
The Name of the Son of GOD is also Holy. We should be every
bit as careful and worshipful as Israel was, when the Name
of The LORD Jesus Christ is written or mentioned. Think
before you use it as slang or in anyway vain. It is
Precious and Holy. Never use it in any manner that is not
for praise and worship. Be exceedingly careful how and
where you mention the Name of the Father and the Son. If
you refresh on the Ten Commandments you will find this very
thing included. Find the Ten Commandments here

Well the birds have flown from the nest since I last talked
with you. One morning the nest was empty. I still see them
out on the lawn feeding on worms. It is strange how the
same kind of birds looks just alike and then while going to
the mailbox I see the mama bird on the driveway. The
ability to recognize her is amazing. She has a certain
look. I whistle and cluck at her and she just sits there
with the worm hanging from her mouth. She just waits for
me. One always sings to Brother Kolenda when he goes out
and it recognizes him. If I go without him, I never hear it
singing.
Our Father in Heaven recognizes not only this bird but also
all the birds. He knows each one of them. Just as I
recognize the mama bird He knows all the birds, fish,
animals and knows each one of us inside and out. This has
given me a small glimpse into the world of knowing one from
the other. Once you see another human you can pick them out
of the crowd. Brother Kolenda told us that when the birds
sing they are praising the wonderful Name of the LORD.

Proverbs, Poems, and/or Feel Goods
(Matthew 12:30) He that is not with me is
against me; and he that gathereth not with
me scattereth abroad.
(Matthew 12:33) Either make the tree good,
and his fruit good; or else make the tree
corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
(Matthew 13:57) And they were offended in
him. But Jesus Said unto them, A prophet is not
without honour, save in his own country, and in
his own house.
(Matthew 15:9) But in vain they do worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
