Israel's High Priestly OrderAll Bible Book Names, Chapters, and Verses will be in bold type to make it easier for you to find them quickly as you study. To better understand The Melchisedec Order, we will first define this word order. This word order is also related to another word Ordinance. It is A Divinely Prescribed form of rules to follow in it's administration. In this Order we find A Ministry of mercy between a Holy GOD and sinning man. 2 Corinthians 3: 6 Paul The Apostle said, "Who hath also made us able ministers of The New Testament." In Hebrews 3: 1 "Wherefore Holy Brethren partakers of The Heavenly "Calling;" Consider The Apostle And High Priest of our profession. CHRIST was both An Apostle And High Priest. In The New Testament, A High Priest is A Melchisedec High Priest Of The Melchisedec Order. There are many rules in the ministry of A New Testament Melchisedec High Priestly Order. To Illustrate: In The Old Testament, we understand that Moses was the builder of The Tabernacle but Aaron, His Brother, was the first born of the family. Aaron was Called Of GOD to be A High Priest to Israel. While Moses was building The Tabernacle, Aaron was learning how to administrate on The Day Of Atonement for the sins of the people. Aaron had to learn the rules of The Order Of A High Priest.
Aaron And Moses stayed at Mount Sinai one year and fifty days: to prepare themselves for the rest of the journey to The Promised Land. Israel could NOT go to The Promised Land without A High Priest. GOD gave Israel many laws or doctrines while Israel was on their way to The Promised Land. It should be, also, with us since we came out of the world and as we grow up In CHRIST and GOD gives us additional Revelation Of GOD'S Word. As Israel journeyed on, GOD gave them new revelation and rules for living.
This High Priestly Administration was completely A new doctrine to Israel. When we say "new truth" it is new to us but Truth is never new To GOD: therefore now are we grateful for The New Revelation Of GOD'S Word.
The atonement (covering) for the sins of Israel had to be administrated by A High Priest. This was new to Israel. They had never had this before. How many new revelations comes to us? New Testament High Priestly OrderThe Priesthood Ministry has never ended but has been changed. Hebrew 7: 12 Paul teaches "for the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity A change also of the law. In The Church Age we also have A High Priestly Ministry only it is changed To The Melchisedec Order With The Melchisedec Communion. This Communion is NOT for "covering or atonement" but it is for REMISSION (removal). Not all accepted The High Priest that GOD had chosen for Israel. Read about Korah and his followers. They were also Priest and Levites but they said "we are all the same." You can find the story of Korah in Numbers Chapter 16. Aaron's High Priestly Ministry pointed ahead to another High Priest that was to come, and did come and Israel rejected HIM. Many people in our day; have more confidence in their own self than they have in the Blood Of Christ. The LORD Jesus shed the blood for you but you must apply it yourself. My faith and believing is in The Blood and Body of CHRIST. This New Testament High Priest is Called a Melchisedec High Priest. Hebrew 7: 15 Paul The Apostle Said, " and it is far more evident; for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another Priest." This High Priest has a Melchisedec Communion. Matthew 26:28 "for this is my blood of The New Testament." The Communion Of The Melchisedec is not A Passover of the Old Testament. The New Testament began after Christ was Ressurected. John 6:56 "for he that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me and I in him. This came to us after the day of Pentecost. In Leviticus 23:16 We read, "even unto the morrow after The Sabbath, shall number fifty days." That brings us to the day of Pentecost, after The Church Age begins. You shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. A new meat (bread) and drink (wine) offering.
The New Testament Communion gives us remission of our sins and not just A covering. Hebrews 10: 8, 9, 10 "When He Said, sacrifice and offerings and burnt offerings for sin thou wouldest not. Neither had I pleasure therein; which was offered by the law (or by Aaron The High Priest). "Then He Said, lo I come to do thy will O' GOD. He taketh away the first that He might establish the second. Please find out more about The New Testament Communion.
