What is in a Name?

Jacob worked many years for his father-in-law in a far country.
He then decided to return to his home and his brother, Esau.
Without going into all the details of this event, Jacob stopped
by the river, as did all those that was with him. Being fearful
of how his brother would receive him, he went apart from the
rest and wrestled all night with the angel of the LORD. There at
Peniel, he received a new name. The angel of the LORD with whom
he had wrestled invoked this name of, Israel, upon him.
His name
was no more Jacob, but Israel, Prince with GOD. He was
now ready
to go through the water, (river) and
meet his brother.
Later we read of Jacob being in Egypt, where his son Joseph, was
governor. Jacob was an old man now, but before he dies, he
places his hands on Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh and
said, "The angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the
lads: and let my Name be named on them [the name Israel be
invoked on them], and the name of my fathers, Abraham and
Isaac." [Genesis 48:16]
It is worthy to note that many of the prophets of Israel have
the name of their GOD attached to their name. The last two
letters of the name of GOD, YAVAH or JEHOVAH can be found on the
name of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Obadiah, Nehemiah, Zechariah, Micah
and Jonah.
"Sing unto GOD, sing praises to His name: Extol Him that rideth
upon the heavens by His Name JAH, and rejoice before Him."
[Psalms 68:4]
Another name of GOD contains the letter EL, ELOHIM, GOD the
Almighty One. There was the prophet Daniel, Samuel, Israel,
Joel, all containing these two letters. In addition, because the
word EL means father it is used in many names of GOD. There is
ELOHIM, ELAH, EL SHADDAI, EL ELYON, and EL OLAM.
Invocation is a common truth practiced by GOD'S elect, Israel.
Invocation is a lost doctrine in our day, only because most
religious leaders are too preoccupied with preaching, manner of
living, and about JESUS instead of searching the Scriptures and
preaching CHRIST. These truths are in the Bible but traditions
rule that have been handed down for ages.
The baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem and for eight days he was
known as a Holy Thing. [Luke 1:35] The word Holy Thing was not
His name. Mary had already been given the name Jesus.
On the eighth day, He received His Name at Circumcision. There
His name was invoked upon Him. [Luke 2:21]
"We are thine: thou never barest rule over them (heathens), they
are not called by thy name." [Isaiah 63:19]
In [Acts 15:16,17] it tells us "That the residue of men might
seek the LORD and all the Gentiles, upon whom my NAME is
called…"
Everything that the Father in Heaven has ever created has a
name. What would you do in this world if you had no name?
In the New Testament, they had the Name of the one who died for
them invoked upon them. If it was that important for them
shouldn't we at least take time to search the Scriptures and see
if these things be so? Don't be in a nameless salvation. Get in
the water and be baptized in the Name of the man who died for
you, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. That is how important the name is.
How much truth does it take to go to heaven?

In the book of [Hebrews Chapter 4] Paul gives us wonderful news
about our High Priest In Heaven. He tells us this in [Verse
15]..."For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched
with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points
tempted like as we are, yet without sin". In [Verse 16]"...Let
us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
This is a most marvelous life that we have that they did not
have in ages past. The ability to have our sins REMITTED. They
had a shadow of GOOD Things to come and for our sake, it is a
joy to report to you that HE came and was made a Sacrifice for
our sins. He was raised a High Priest After The Order of
Melchisedec forever.
We thank The Father In Heaven that we now have this opportunity
that was made for us all.
