Types: Old and New Israel
By: Minister E. J. Kolenda
The Old Israel is the Old Testament Israel. She became an
adulteress nation. Because of this, JEHOVAH ELOHIM divorced her
and scattered her throughout the whole earth. She is a marred
vessel in the potter's hand, which cannot be repaired [Jeremiah
18:1-5]. No righteous king will ever marry her or be joined to
her again [Deuteronomy 24:1,4].
New Israel is the Elect because of the abundant mercy of GOD,
"Elect according to the foreknowledge of GOD The Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit (The Holy Ghost)…."
Jesus when speaking to Nicodemus (an Israelite), had
emphatically said that it was imperative that he, an Israelite,
be born again of the Water and the Spirit. It was necessary.
Vashti the Old Queen
In the [Book of Esther] there is a beautiful picture of both the
Old and New Israel.
King Ahasuerus ruled over Media Persia, a kingdom of one hundred
and twenty seven provinces.
It was in the third year of his reign that he made a feast unto
all the princes, servants, and the nobles; to show them the
riches of his glorious kingdom, and the honor of his excellent
majesty.
Vashti, the Queen, also made a feast for the women in the royal
house, which belonged to King Ahasuerues.
On the seventh day of the feast, when the heart of the king was
merry with wine, he commanded that the queen, Vashti, be brought
to stand before the king with the royal crown, to show the
people and the princes her beauty: For she was fair to look on.
Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command. This angered
the king greatly.
Let us pause for a moment to point out that queen Vashti is a
type of Old Israel. Old Israel was married to JEHOVAH. She was
called a Royal Priest. She was in the family of JEHOVAH ELOHIM
by Law. Israel was above all other people and nations. Old
Israel belonged to JEHOVAH, the Royal King.
Old Israel was unfaithful. She ran after other lovers, she bowed
to other gods. She forgot the Rock of her salvation. Therefore,
JEHOVAH, her Husband divorced her - forever a stranger to GOD
[Hosea 2:2,5].
Now let us return to the story of Vashti the Queen, continuing
were we left off.
Because the queen refused his summons, the King Ahasuerus called
in his wise men for counsel; what to do unto Queen Vashti
according to the law. The decision was "…that Vashti come no
more before King Ahasuerus….." [Esther 1:19]
The end had come! The defect in the character of Vashti must be
dealt with. The sentence has been pronounced. Vashti the Queen
shall no more come into My Presence!
Old Israel has played the harlot and been disobedient. She has
played the fool as an adulteress woman. She forsook her GOD and
ran after other gods[Hosea 2:7]. Therefore she has polluted
herself and is unclean. She has defiled herself as the
uncleanness of a removed woman [Ezekiel 36:16,17.]
Old Israel can never again be restored nationally as an
unregenerate, divorced, unclean Israel. [Deuteronomy 24:1-5] Old
Israel is through. The end has come! Her house is desolate.
Armageddon will wipe out all uncleanness, regardless of whether
we are Israelites, Jews, Gentiles, or Heathens.
The scattered, present day Israel is still polluted and unclean,
for she still embraces the doctrine of Baalism.
Old Israel will never again come into the presence of JEHOVAH
ELOHIM.
Esther, A New Queen
In [Esther 1:19], we read "another that is better than she
(Vashti) shall take her place."
After the king's anger subsided he sent out his servants to seek
for fair young virgins to replace Vashti. A number of young
virgins were found; Esther, a Benjamite, was one of them. When
she was brought before the king, he was pleased with her and
"gave her things for purification", and he placed her and her
maids unto the best place in the house of the women.
Here she remained in seclusion for one full year, going through
the process of purification - six months with oil of myrrh; six
months with sweet odours, and other things.
New Israel, the successor to the Old Testament Israel, is in
seclusion today. She is in the process of purification,
preparing to meet her Headship, the King.
Esther was of the Tribe of Benjamin. This tribe was called "The
Lightbearers.” The Tribe of Benjamin came into existence because
someone was willing to give her life that another generation
might live. Rachel gave her life to give birth to Benjamin,
whose name means "Son of my Right-hand" or "Son of Sorrow.”
Strange isn't it, that the very principle GOD chose was "Out of
Death Comes Life.”
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall
into the ground and die, it abideth alone: But if it die, it
bringeth forth much fruit." [John 12:24]
Out of death, at the Resurrection, there came forth a New King
of Israel. He is the Head, the Firstborn of the New forty-second
generation. He will reign over His Kind of Israel, A New - Born
Israel.
Did you know that it was the tribe of Benjamin that was called
"Galileans"? It was the Galileans who waited for the outpouring
of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) on the day of Pentecost? It was they
who received this New Life of the New Kingdom? [Acts 2:7]
Esther, the Benjamite virgin, was in seclusion twelve months in
preparation, getting ready to meet her king. Every defect, spot,
and wrinkle had to be removed. She had to be made pure. She was
daily under the care of beauticians and maids; six months she
was given massage treatments of Oil of Myrrh.
This Myrrh is a balsam and is the life - sap of a tree. It is a
spice of great fragrance. It is also a healing ointment, a
purifier of impurities of the skin.
Then for six months Esther was given treatments with the Oil of
Sweet Odours.
There were two operations in the purification process. 1) To
remove all corruption - we call it sin. This first ointment was
bitter to taste. It is death to sin "by Baptism into death'.
[Romans 6:4] Number 2 is the sweet odours of the New Life, the
baptism of the Holy Spirit. To stand in the Kingdom of our King,
the LORD Jesus Christ, Jesus said in [John 3:5] "Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD."
Finally, after one year of preparation, one year of being set
apart (the work of sanctification), the time of the presentation
came. Each of the maidens was given the privilege of taking
whatever she desired with her to the King's house, something
that might add to her beauty. Esther was the only one who
required nothing. Her perfection was complete and she obtained
grace and favour in the King's sight more than all the virgins.
So the Royal Crown was set upon her head and she was made Queen
instead of Vashti.
As we read on in the Book of Esther we find out how important it
was that Esther had a Name. She was never allowed to enter the
inner court of the king, except she is called.
What is there in a Name?
First of all it is a means of Identification. The Old Queen,
Vashti, never again came into the presence of her king.
She is
the Type of Old Israel who is eternally separated from her King.
The New Israel (after the Resurrection) has been given a New
Name. The LORD Jesus Christ is His Name. New Israel, like the
virgin Esther, will forever remain in the presence of the King.
I hope you have enjoyed this study on Israel because Israel is
always important to our Heavenly Father. To learn the history of
Israel and where they are today is not only interesting but
tells us much about The Heavenly Father and His Ways. Remember
He is a Jealous GOD and will not permit disobedience and the
worship of other gods.
How much truth does it take to go to heaven?

We are sorry to be so long in getting a newsletter to you.
Brother Kolenda has been very weak. He fell and hurt his back so
has not been able to sit and write as he once did. We do have
stacks of articles that just need to be put into the computer so
will not keep us from getting out the newsletter as we can.
It seems there has been a lot of news and it has not been good
lately. It causes a depressive spirit in our land. Then suddenly
we hear of a wonderful thing that has been done. Then more
wonderful things so it does balance out if we look for the good
every day. Good news does not pay very well but it does help our
spirits to hear it. If we had a TV program that only gave good
news would anyone watch.
