Old Testament - New Testament

By: Minister E. J. Kolenda

There is a great need to "rightly divide the word of truth" [2 Timothy 2:15]. The dividing must always be
where GOD divides the Word.

One cannot take sayings that belong to the Jews out of the Four Gospels – statements that belong to the
First Covenant people and apply them to the second Covenant People. You cannot mix Covenants or you will
have to go back to slaying animals and using their blood. Today we have a better Sacrifice! The Blood of
Christ is our Sacrifice.

Please take note of this: The law of the first Covenant was called the Law of "sin and death". The Law of the
New Covenant is called the "law of the Spirit of Life.” [Romans 8:2]

"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth
came by Jesus Christ." [John 1:17]

Much confusion comes by "not rightly dividing the Word
of truth.”

There are two covenants, two testaments. One is the Old Testament; the other is the New Testament. The Old
Testament is ended [Hebrews 8:13 and Colossians 2:14], and the New Testament is now in effect.

Moses was the giver of the Old Testament and Jesus is the author of the New Testament [John 1:17];
[Hebrews 3:6]; [Hebrews 5:9]; [Hebrews 12:2].

It must be remembered that each covenant (testament) had its own laws. The Old Testament (Covenant) ended
on the Cross of Calvary for Jesus is the `end of the law to them that believe'
[Romans 10:4 and Colossians 2:14].

Jesus was born under the law, circumcised, kept the Sabbath, and kept the Passover – Until His Death!

The First Covenant ended – not with the book of Malachi in the Old Testament but at the Cross!

In the book of Acts the birthday of the Church is recorded on the Day of Pentecost. This was the beginning
of the New Covenant or the New Testament. In the Book of Acts you will find the New Creation – the First Born from
the dead.

In the Book of Matthew, Jesus walks before us as the `King of Israel'.
In Mark He is the `Servant of JEHOVAH'.
In Luke, He is `the Son of Man'.
In John He is the `Eternal Word'.
In Acts He is the `Begotten Son', the High Priest after the Order of Melchisedec'.

The book of Acts is the `book of Beginnings' – of a Spiritual Covenant, a Spiritual Race of Sons of GOD,
and a New Creation.

In the book of Acts you will find the beginning of
1) The First Born Assembly
2) The Apostles
3) Tongues and Interpretation
4) The Doctrine of Remission of Sins
5) The Ministry of Reconciliation
6) The Body of Christ
7) The Begotten Sons

The Old Testament is "passed away and behold all things are become new". [2 Corinthians 5:17]

Jesus in the Four Gospels spoke to the sheep of Israel or the Two-Tribes the Jews. He spoke as a King to His subjects.

There are three classes of people – Jew, Gentile, Church. When Jesus speaks to the Jews, it is not meant for the
Church. When He spoke to the Gentiles, He did not apply it to the Jews or the Church.

In the Four Gospels He prophesied about the church. In [Matthew 18:18] we read, "Upon this rock I will build my
Church." In another Scripture we read: "Therefore say I unto you (Jews), the Kingdom of GOD shall be taken away from you
and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits there of. "Also, in [Matthew] we read, "The stone that the builders
rejected, the same is become the head of the Corner". [Matthew 21:43,44]

GOD forbid that anyone should think I am saying that the Old Testament truths are done away with. It is our school master
that we need everyday to correct and teach us. Are the Old Testament Saints lost? Indeed not! They were saved by the Law
of Their Covenant. But we of this day are not under the law of the first Covenant. We are in the New Testament. We must be
saved by the Laws of the New Covenant which is A Better Covenant.

You must not take the parts of speech that are applied to the Old Covenant people, the Jews, and apply it to our
day. Just as they did not apply what belonged to Abraham to their day. The Jews had a New Covenant or a New Law.

Many of the statements made by Jesus in the Four Gospels do not and cannot be applied to us in the New Covenant,
the Church. Jesus was not talking To the Church in the Four Gospels because it did not yet exist! He could tell you
about it's coming but it was not yet here. There cannot be a church, the Body, without a head. The Head did not appear
until the Resurrection. [Colossians 1:18]

Jesus is the First Born from the Dead. [Colossians 1:8]. How dare anyone to assume ever that the disciples were in
the Church, the Body, before Jesus the Head and the First Born ever came into being.

In studying the Bible it is always well to do these three things when you read. First, find out Who is talking,
Secondly, find out What he is talking about and Thirdly, Who is he talking to. I know I have told you this many times in
this newsletter, but please know, it is the only way that you will be able to Rightly Divide the Word of Truth!

How much truth does it take to go to heaven?

May GOD Richly and Abundantly Bless You All,

Your Minister and Apostle of Revelation Truth

The king's son is ready to be married. The king sent forth the servants to call the guest to the wedding. They in turn
made light of the wedding and went their way. To busy to attend because they had everyday worries to see to. The farm,
the store, the factory and the list of excuses go on. The king had gone to much trouble and expense to have this wedding. The
ones that should have been delighted to attend had things to do. They even killed the servants that were sent to invite them.

When the king heard this, he was angry and sad. He sent forth his armies and destroyed those murderers and their cities. But
the wedding was still ready and the work had been done but there were no invited guest to attend. You would think an
invitation from the king to attend would have brought them out in droves in their finery and jubilant to be there. It did not!

The king sent his servants out again and told them to go into the highways and byways and gather guest for his son's wedding.
There will be a wedding and there will be guest. [Matthew 22:1-14]

Have you ever wondered, who am I LORD, that you would choose me? Maybe you aren't wealthy or maybe you are. Maybe you are famous or
maybe not but we all wonder why we believe in the LORD and serve Him when others either don't or can't believe.

He knows already whether you are willing to put on your wedding garment and attend no matter what the cost.

Your Minister of Helps

The man, who trims himself to suit everybody,
will soon whittle himself away.

I do not like the phrase:
Never cross a bridge until you come to it.
The world is owned by men who cross bridges
on their imaginations miles and miles in advance
of the procession.
[Bruce Barton]

The study of GOD'S Word for the purpose of discovering
GOD'S Will is the secret discipline, which has turned
the greatest characters.
