“And they all forsook Him and fled.” [Mark 14:50]
Blinded by prejudice, the chief priests and scribes exclaim
with sarcasm, "He saved others; Himself he cannot save".
Yes
they are right He did save others and is still until this
day, saving others. Only now after the Resurrection He is
saving by the Remission of sins. Then He saved by atonement,
healing and raising from the dead.
“And they led JESUS away to the high priest: and with him
were assembled all the chief priests and elders and the
scribes.”
[Mark 14:53]
Following this they held a meeting with all the dignitaries
present and bound JESUS, and carried Him away to Pilate.
JESUS the innocent could have been released but they instead
chose a murderer, Barabbas to be given unto them. They hated
JESUS so much that a murderer was chosen over the Man that
Saved Others.
Behold the man!" Said Pilate, as he presented Jesus to the
multitude. "Behold, I bring Him forth to you, that ye may
know that I find no fault in Him". [John 19:4,5]
Behold the Man who had saved others standing there, wearing
the crown of thorns that had been placed upon His brow.
Behold the soldiers smite Him on the head with a reed and
spit upon Him, while bowing their knees before Him in
mocking worship.
See Him clothed in a scarlet robe and deridingly hailed as
“King of the Jews”. Hear the chief priest and officers cry
out vehemently: "Crucify Him, Crucify Him!" behold Him
standing there unmoved by the scorn and insult heaped upon
Him by an angry mob thirsting for His blood. See that look
of pitying tenderness upon His face. This is the man who
saved others.
Take note that no words of complaint escaped His lips. Yes,
Behold the Man who saved others!
Behold Him hanging upon the cross. The people passing by are
railing upon Him and wagging their heads in derision. The
priests and rulers are reviling Him. The Roman soldiers are mocking as they watch Him hanging on the tree. The disciples
forsake Him and flee. Yet no harsh words escape His lips. He is still in the “saving others” process.
Hear Him say with great pleading, "Father forgive them; for they know not what they do." Behold the Man who saved others!
But here is a remarkable fact indeed. While the scribes and
priests revile against Him, and His bitter foes heap cruel,
sarcastic reproach upon Him, we hear the wonderful
testimonies concerning Him. They are forced unwittingly from
the lips of His bitterest enemies. Said Judas, as he threw
the thirty pieces of silver before the chief priests: "I
have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood."
Look! There is a runner hurriedly pressing his way to
Pilate's judgment seat to deliver a message to the governor
from his wife, which reads, "Have thou nothing to do with
that just Man: for I have suffered many things this day in a
dream because of Him."
Even the sign “King of the Jews” that was put there
mockingly was unbeknown to them, the truth and a testimony.
We hear the tumult and clamor of the people as the weak and
office-seeking Pilate exclaims, "Why, what evil hath He
done?" Then washing his hands before the multitude, he cries
out, "I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye
to it."
Had He saved Himself from death then the world would have
been lost and without hope. The fact that "He saved others"
gives us confidence that He can also save us. Remember, dear
reader, that we are one of the others. "Behold the Man that
saved others!"
“JESUS cried with a loud voice and gave up the ghost.” [Mark
14:37] “And when the centurion which stood over against him
saw that He so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said,
truly this man was the Son of GOD."
[Mark 14:39]
These are wonderful testimonies, pressed from the lips of
bloodthirsty and hardened men. "He saved others," said the
priests. This cry was heard over and over, “He saved
others.”
Can there be any deed nobler than to save others? That is
what Jesus did, according to the testimony of His foes. This
was His purpose to save a lost and dying world. Behold Him
who saved and is still saving others.
In order to save others, He had to suffer. For saving
others, He was reproached and scourged. He came "to seek and
to save that which was lost;" but in order to save others He
could not save Himself.
Even while suffering and dying on the cross He took the time
to still save others. The thief just said the words,
“Remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” JESUS did not
neglect to answer and to care even at that late hour. Yes,
Behold the Man who Saved Others.
Mankind's savior died that you and I may live. Yes He truly
did save others but laid down His own life in order to do
so. No they did not take His life from Him. He laid it down
just as He did all things for the Father in Heaven’s will
and purpose. In doing this He Fulfilled the Word of the
Father. This is what saves others, fulfilling the Word of
the Father in Heaven. Yes, He still SAVES OTHERS even today.
How much truth does it take to go to heaven?

Every miracle that CHRIST did had a purpose in fulfilling
GOD’S Word. Each one can be looked at in a new and fresh
way. Read the story of Lazarus as the LORD said it applies
to Israel. He waited two more days before going to raise him
from the dead. There was a reason for this.
The first miracle was at a wedding. Remember Israel the
bride? In this miracle JESUS turned the Water into Wine.
He
used water pots that were used for purifying. He has them
first filled with water. Then He changed the water to the
best wine. He took Israel the bride from the purifying water
to the purifying wine in this first miracle. [John Chapter
2] This happened after He had been to John and was baptized
to, “fulfill all righteousness”. [Matthew 8:13] Then three
days later He was summoned with His disciples to a wedding.
He went. When Mary told Jesus that they had no wine notice
that He said, “Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour
is not yet come.” [John 2:4] He had not yet shed the blood
that would become the wine of communion. In [verse 5] Mary
gave great advice that still applies to us today and that is
this, “…Whatsoever He saith to you, DO IT.”
Yes every thing that CHRIST did on earth had a purpose even
the miracles. Reread all the miracles and see inside the
absolute meaning in each miracle that was done. Think about
the fact that just the miracle alone would have been enough
but CHRIST always gives more than we ask for and in
everything He tells us to do is a great meaning and a
necessity for doing it. In every thing we too should give
more than asked.

Proverbs, Poems and/or Feel Goods
I will use this space for a feel good this week.
Here at Ministry we are working to get the newsletter sent
to you directly from our site. I am dealing with a
programmer that will install the script on our own server.
After this is done we are working on a new newsletter that
will come out daily. It will be short and to the point.
You will have to subscribe to it separately because it is a
different enews. This newsletter you are reading now will
continue as it has done for so many years now. Thank each
one of you for being with us and most of you have been here
for the long haul. I was looking back over the list and I
saw so many addresses that have been with us so long. I want
all of you to know that not a day goes by without prayer for
each of you.
We received an email from a wonderful lady of gospel music
that had this statement in it, “What I do is not a job, it
is a calling and you can retire from a job but you cannot
retire from a calling.” This is perfectly said. Now when it
is suggested that Brother Kolenda retire because of his age
this will be his answer. Thank you, Vestal Goodman for that
wonderful thought. Keep up the good work.
